Protec Services is a family run IT and Security business based in Louth. Due to the expansion of the business and increasing workloads, we are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT Technician to join our small friendly team. This position is an all-round position and other duties different to those outlined may be determined by management from time to time. If you have the skills required and an excellent approach to work then we want to hear from you.

A full UK diving license is an essential requirement for this position as you will be required to visit client premises.

You must be physically fit as you may be expected to work in confined spaces and at height.

Permanent - Full Time

5 days a week, Monday – Friday, usually between the hours of 8am-6pm.

Please note for this position there will be occasional working away from home as required.

Inclusion on the call-out rota is approx. 1 week in every 4.
Salary is subject to candidate experience and qualifications but is expected to be in the starting region of £20k However, this is down to the individual candidate and is negotiable for the right person.

Holiday 28 days including Bank holidays

Key Responsibilities

Visiting client premises (both business and residential properties) to install and service a wide range of network infrastructures, some cabling will be required.

Providing a wide range of IT support – MS Office, Exchange Accounts, DNS, DHCP, Domain Management, Virtual Servers, Routers, Wi-Fi, Switches, Wi-Fi Links

Providing technical support to multiple IT device issues

Installation and providing technical support with IP phone networks.

Essential Skills

Excellent customer service skills, including telephone manner

Ability to follow specific instructions

Able to project a respectable and professional image

Be able to work as part of a team but also independently

Ability to fault find

Willing to undertake further training and development

Proven knowledge of using tools including power and hand tools

Supporting Microsoft 365

Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Account administration

Administration of DNS, DHCP, Domain Management, Security Policies

Administration of backup software across various platforms

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

Advanced understanding of LANS’s, WAN’s, VPN’s, Switches, Routers and Wi-Fi

Windows Server Group Policy

Windows Distribution Services

Windows Software Update Services (WSUS)

Good technical understanding of mobile and tablet devices, Apple and Android products and how they connect back into the infrastructure.

Experience with IP phone networks, in particular Avaya systems, FreePBX, NEC, BT Systems.
